All You Need To Know About Teeth Whitening

We'll show you the best ways to whiten your teeth!

Teeth Whitening agents that are purchased in a drugstore typically come in one size and strength that fits all types of teeth, yet everyone’s mouth is different.

This can result in uneven whitening, with some teeth appearing perfectly white and others showing a different shade or even still showing stains.

Professional teeth whitening treatments ensure that each tooth is whitened evenly so that your entire smile retains the same level of brightness.

The whitening products sold in stores only contain a small amount of whitening agent, and typically provide you with just a shade or two of improvement.

Not to mention, the store teeth whitening products also take weeks – or sometimes even months – to see any noticeable results.

Professional strength whitening removes stubborn stains that store-bough kits cannot and you can even pick your shade of white to whiten your smile up to 7 shades in just one visit.

Most whitening treatments, especially trays and strips, are sold as one-size-fits-all. In reality, these rarely fit the majority of users, because each person’s smile comes in a different size and shape.

Ill-fitting trays and strips are the biggest reason patients experience uneven whitening and sensitivity in the teeth and gums.

Dr. Riordan can protect your gums and create a custom whitening product to reduce pain and / or sensitivity of teeth whitening for your own comfort.

Smile With The Confidence You Deserve!

Patients with yellowed or stained smiles tend to smile with their mouth closed, leading others to perceive them as unfriendly or lacking in self-esteem.

Having your teeth professionally whitened will encourage you to present your best smile to the world, resulting in increased confidence.

Patients find this increase in confidence helps them become more outgoing, and they generally perform better in job interviews and have better dates after having their teeth whitened.

How Much Whiter Can Your Teeth Get?

The amount of whitening you can expect depends on your teeth and how they accept the bleaching agents. Some people can experience several shades of whitening, while others may be limited and will only see a shade or two of difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

The costs to whiten your teeth will vary, depending on your teeth, but single treatments can start as low as $70.00.
There are “take-home” kits available but we would recommend that you have your dentist perform the treatments. Most take-home kits are very generic and your dentist would be able to provide you with the best options in terms of strength and effectiveness.
The overall effectiveness of teeth whitening treatments depends on the person’s teeth (genetics), and not everyone will be able to get a super-white smile. The only way to really know is to to try it first and gauge the results you get. If your teeth work with the strips or gels, you can most likely continue. If you don’t see any results, whitening your teeth may not be for you.
The manufacturers of the teeth whitening products claim you can get up to 7 shades brighter, but in our experience those would be the best-case results. If the strips and gels work for you, you can most likely expect your teeth to get a few shades brighter.
